Scales made from real black horn (not a plastic stuff , see pictures for details) to be sewn with waxed thongs on a soft leather base.
Each scale is obtained by heating, shaping, cutting, piercing, smoothing.
Sold by unit, with mounting scheme and instructions.
Proof from damp and moisture, strong and quite light, this type of armour are described by latin author such as Pausanias
and Ammien Marcellin (used at least from the first to the fifth century AD)
Shown here on a body protection named "liang tang" by ancient chineses (a front and a back panel joined by shoulder
straps).
